How to Import EPUB and TXT Books

Before you import

• Use an EPUB or TXT file you have the right to read.
• Choose an unprotected file. DRM-protected books are not supported.
• PDF, Kindle, and scanned-image books are not supported import formats.
• Download the file to your device first if it is stored in a cloud service.

Add the book to your library

1. Open Linguoteka’s library and choose the import action.
2. Select your EPUB or TXT file in the system file picker.
3. Set the reading language to match the file and choose a different language to learn.
4. Choose your level and replacement amount, then allow the app to process the book.
5. Open the book and tap a highlighted learning word to check its meaning.

If words are not being replaced

Check that the language of your book matches the selected reading language. English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian are supported. A book in another language, or one that does not match your settings, may open in read-only mode without word replacement.

If the import does not work

Check the file type and whether the book is protected. A damaged or unusually formatted EPUB may not import correctly. Try another valid EPUB or TXT file, and contact support with the file type and the error message if the issue continues.

The free library holds five books at a time. Remove a book to free a slot, or explore Pro for a library without that limit.

Reading without a connection

Imported books and vocabulary processing stay on your device. Download your files and any required system pronunciation voices before going offline. Online store and subscription services may still require a connection.
