1. License and Use of the App

We grant you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download, install, and use the App strictly in accordance with these Terms for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

2. User Content and Copyright (Imported Books)

Linguoteka allows you to import and read your own digital books and text files (e.g., EPUB format).

You are solely responsible for the content you import into the App.

We do not host, distribute, or have access to the files you import; all processing occurs locally on your device.

You agree that you will not use the App to infringe upon any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. You must possess the legal right to read and possess the files you import.

3. Premium Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The App offers optional in-app purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions ("Premium") to unlock the features described on the purchase screen, which may include increased or unlimited feature access and removal of advertisements. Current prices, subscription periods and any trial terms are displayed by the App Store or Google Play before purchase.

Billing and Payments

All transactions are handled by the app store from which you downloaded the App (Apple App Store or Google Play Store), facilitated by our third-party provider, RevenueCat. We do not directly process your payment method or receive your full payment card or bank account details.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled within the period specified by the applicable app store. Renewal, billing and price-change notices are handled under the rules of the store through which you subscribed.

Cancellations and Refunds

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Because payments are handled by Apple and Google, we cannot directly issue refunds. Refund requests must be directed to the respective app store.

4. Free Classics

The App provides access to selected classic books sourced from public-domain or otherwise redistributable editions. The source, attribution and rights notes for each title are displayed in the App. Access to these books is provided as part of the App; we do not sell ownership of the underlying literary works.

Copyright and public-domain status can differ between countries. Project Gutenberg primarily assesses copyright status under United States law and advises users outside the United States to check the law in their own country. You are responsible for ensuring that downloading or using a title is lawful in your location.

Project Gutenberg is a registered trademark. Project Gutenberg and the authors, publishers, estates and other source providers are not affiliated with and do not sponsor or endorse Linguoteka. Use of source names is for attribution and identification. Project Gutenberg material remains subject to its applicable licence and terms.

5. Quick Stories and External Content

Quick Stories may be packaged with the App or adapted from sources such as Wikimedia/Wikisource, NASA and Global Voices. A story may be shortened, reformatted, translated or adapted for language-learning use. Available source and licence information is shown with the story.

Third-party content belongs to its respective author or rights holder and is provided under the licence or usage terms identified in the App. Linguoteka does not grant you rights beyond those terms. External sources are not affiliated with and do not sponsor or endorse Linguoteka. We may change, replace or remove content when its source, availability or rights information changes.

6. Third-Party Services and Advertising

The App integrates third-party services that have their own Terms and Privacy Policies:

Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements in the free version of the App.

RevenueCat: Used to manage and validate in-app purchases and Premium subscriptions.

Cloudflare: Used to deliver the Free Classics catalog, books and cover files and to deliver and protect the Linguoteka website.

Content providers: Wikimedia/Wikisource, NASA, Global Voices and other identified sources may provide Quick Stories, images or source links.

By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that your use of these services is also subject to their respective terms and policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites or services.

7. Downloads, Offline Use and Availability

Downloaded books and cached stories are stored on your device. You are responsible for maintaining sufficient storage and any device backups you want. Offline availability depends on content having been downloaded or cached before the connection is lost.

We may modify feature limits, catalog selections and external integrations over time. We do not guarantee permanent availability of any particular book, story, image, external link or third-party service. Where consumer law requires it, changes to paid features will not affect rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

8. Linguoteka Intellectual Property

The Linguoteka name, logo, App design, original software, original stories and other materials created by us are owned by or licensed to Juicy Paws Games. These Terms do not transfer our intellectual-property rights to you. This does not apply to imported user content, public-domain works or third-party materials identified with their own attribution or licence.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While we strive to provide reliable content, accurate translations and a seamless reading experience, to the extent permitted by law we do not warrant that:

• The language translations, definitions, or grammatical analysis will be 100% accurate, complete, or error-free.
• Third-party stories, public-domain classifications, source metadata or external links will always be accurate, complete or available.
• The App will function uninterrupted or be free of bugs or viruses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OLEKSANDR BURLAKA and Juicy Paws Games will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, use, goodwill or other intangible losses resulting from access to, use of or inability to use the App. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable mandatory consumer protections.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of residence. Courts and dispute-resolution bodies will have jurisdiction as provided by applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the App, third-party services or legal requirements change. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with a new Effective Date. Where required by law, we will provide reasonable advance notice or request your agreement before a material change takes effect.
